This competition is open to all affiliated Clubs New Zealand outlets to participate in.
The competition starts on the week commencing Monday 22nd July 2019 and runs for ten consecutive weeks. A team's best eight scores over the ten weeks will count towards their final tally, meaning if they attend all 10 weeks their two worst scores can be removed. After that calculation, the team with the highest score at each venue will qualify for the final.
Clubs do have the right to amend the 'eight best scores in ten weeks' scenario if they see fit, however it must be made clear to teams at the club before the competition starts, and the club must run the competition for ten consecutive weeks to qualify to send a team to the grand final.
The final will be at the Upper Hutt Cosmopolitan Club, 11 Logan St, Ebdentown, Upper Hutt on Saturday 16th November 2019.
Individual Clubs may only send one team of 6 to the final unless they have more than 10 teams competing. If the average attendance over the competition period is between 11 and 20 teams per night, then the top two teams may attend, 21-30 teams competing then the top three teams may attend and so on.
The final will be limited to 60 teams of 6 team members, on a first in first served basis.
Each team will consist of 6 people having paid up membership of an affiliated Clubs New Zealand Club.
Each team is responsible for any costs incurred in getting themselves to the final, unless their club agrees to fund their expenses.
Point of sale, posters etc. for the event for each venue will available for download once the entry application has been accepted. Printing of any promotional material and distribution via social media and any associated costs are the responsibility of the venue.
Although all quiz questions are thoroughly researched, Believe it or Not, and Clubs NZ or the sponsors take no responsibility for any errors in accuracy of questions or mistakes in collating any scores. The decision of the quizmaster, or manager of each individual club is final.
Believe it or Not quiz packages start at $85 plus GST per week, ten of which must be purchased during the qualifying period. Clubs that have not tried a Believe it or Not quiz in the past however, can claim four weeks free, effectively paying for six weeks instead of ten, provided that fee is paid for up front.
There is no entry fee for teams who qualify for the Grand Final.
You must be 18 years or older to participate in the 2019 Clubs New Zealand Quiz Champs competition.

The promoter will undertake all due care and diligence to ensure that Shaun Wallace is available to host the final however cannot be held responsible if for unforeseen circumstances he cannot travel to NZ for the said event.
There will be a monthly prize draw of $500, $300, $200 to be won. Every purchase of a sponsor's brand product on the during the competition (excluding the final) will go in to the monthly draw to win first prize of $500, 2nd prize $300, 3rd prize $200. The outlet draws will be done under supervision at Lion, 27 Napier St, Freemans Bay on Monday 29th July 2019, Monday 2nd September 2019 and Monday 23rd September 2019. The winning Club will be notified, and they will do a draw from their entry box on quiz night.
The winning team's prize package will include a day trip to Blenheim for a Wither Hills Winery immersion experience which includes flights from a major NZ airport, transfers, guided winery tour, tastings and lunch. The cost of that experience will be deducted from the $5,000 prize and balance remaining remitted to the winning team in Prezzy Cards.
The second placed team will win $1,400 in Prezzy Cards to share.
The third placed team will win $600 in Prezzy Cards to share.
