In search of New Zealand's smartest pub quiz team
Every year a pub's quiz night culminates in a nationwide search for New Zealand's smartest pub quiz team, the best of which gather in a three hour extravaganza which is often only decided by a point or two!
New Zealand’s premiere trivia event was back for its 24th year on Saturday 23 November, 2024. The Wellington team of “Eddie’s Back, Don’t Panic!”, from the Shepherd's Arms Hotel achieved one of the largest margins of victory ever, a whopping 5 points, from second placed Rustic Crayfish from the Bog in Christchurch, and third placed Tough Crowd from Auckland’s Portland Public House.
A record 25 teams from outside Auckland travelled to the event this year to compete for the glory of being crowned New Zealand’s best quiz team at the Grand Hall at Auckland’s Eden Park!
